Peregrine Law is delighted to announce that we have a new lawyer joining our team. Pragmatic and commercially focused, Marilyn is an experienced employment lawyer in both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Marilyn has worked as an employment law consultant for the past 8 years and is known for taking a client-focused approach when handling sensitive employment-related issues. In employment law matters, Marilyn has worked for a variety of clients from private individuals to large corporations.
Outside of employment law, Marilyn has wider legal experience in corporate law matters. She initially qualified as a UK/US corporate associate in a full-service American law firm. Marilyn’s corporate career highlights include working on a US IPO of a Russian Internet company, several London listings and global M&A transactions.
Marilyn has considerable international experience. She was born in Switzerland, grew up in Ghana, studied law at Durham University and qualified as a solicitor in the UK in 1996. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Marilyn was called to the New York State Bar in 1994.
In addition to her achievements in law, Marilyn is also an accomplished author. Marilyn published her first novel, Cloth Girl, in 2006 which was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel award the following year. In 2010, Marilyn published her second novel, The Association of Foreign Spouses, before returning to her career as a lawyer. She is also a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, and is passionate about helping individuals work through challenging life issues that hinder a full enjoyment of life.
We warmly welcome Marilyn to her next chapter here at Peregrine!
