Growing the Peregrine Law team with key new appointments

We’re delighted to welcome two new lawyers to Peregrine Law’s rapidly expanding team.

Alex Harle joins as a highly experienced commercial corporate lawyer. Previously a partner at leading London law firm, Bircham Dyson Bell LLP, more recently Alex ran her own firm advising a range of business clients from entrepreneurs, to not for profits through to global corporates.

Alex’s expertise ranges across technology, IP, fundraising, investment and exits, partnerships and LLPs and joint ventures.  Her captaincy of the England Women’s Lacrosse team and participation in four World Cups will no doubt prove invaluable too.

Alex comments, “The world of law is catching up with clients, and I’m a passionate believer in delivering law that suits our clients.  That’s why I was delighted to join Peregrine Law. The more for less ethos really resonated with me as did Nigel’s commitment to focusing on clear, commercial and pragmatic advice.”

James Downey is also a City trained corporate lawyer and a successful entrepreneur in his own right, having founded luxury ski chalet business, White Mountain Chalets in 2012. He brings insider understanding to transactions he advises on – fundraising and investments, M&A, joint ventures, group reorganisations and general corporate and commercial advisory work for public and private companies.

James has specialist in-house legal experience supporting fast growth businesses through his work with our partners LegalEdge and for GE Capital.  James qualified as a UK lawyer in 2007 after a career as a Tornado navigator in the RAF.

James adds, “It’s an exciting time to join Peregrine Law. As a truly entrepreneurial, challenger corporate law firm, it’s carving out an innovative way to collaborate with clients and other law firms. As a legal start-up, that global mind set also appealed to me as a business owner. I’m thrilled to be part of the business.”
